After a busy period away from the blog, I was eager to dive back into Glasgow’s vibrant dining scene. This time, I ventured to Royaon Elmbank Street, a spot that’s been generating quite the buzz for its contemporary Middle Eastern cuisine.

Ambience

Stepping into Roya, I was immediately struck by the warm and elegant atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating an inviting space that balances modern aesthetics with traditional touches. It’s the kind of place that feels both special and comfortable, perfect for anything from a casual lunch to a celebratory dinner.

Menu Highlights

Roya offers a diverse menu featuring contemporary Middle Eastern small plates, known as mazzeh, alongside grilled specialties. The menu caters to various dietary preferences, including vegan and gluten-free options.

One standout dish is the Burrata and Beetroot, which has received high praise from patrons.  Another highlight is the Lamb Shank, noted for its generous portion and excellent value.

To complement the meal, Roya boasts an impressive cocktail bar. The Rhubarb and Ginger Spritz comes highly recommended, offering a refreshing and aromatic pairing to the rich flavors of the dishes.
