Bringing Morocco to the West End

If you’re a fan of bold, exotic flavors and want to embark on a culinary adventure without leaving Glasgow, you simply must try Finnieston Fez. Nestled in the heart of the West End, this Moroccan-inspired café offers a menu that transports your taste buds to North Africa.
On my recent visit, I was eager to dive into the vibrant cuisine. I started with the Trip of Dips, which included hummus, roasted pepper, and aubergine spreads, served with fresh bread. Each dip had its own unique flavor profile: the hummus was rich and creamy, the roasted pepper had a smoky sweetness, and the aubergine was earthy and flavorful. Together, they were the perfect introduction to the meal.
Next, I couldn’t resist trying the Falafel Panini. The crispy falafel, tucked inside a warm panini, was complemented by fresh vegetables and a drizzle of tahini sauce that added the right amount of tanginess. It was both hearty and satisfying—an excellent choice for anyone craving a Middle Eastern twist on a classic sandwich.
To finish off the experience, I paired my meal with a refreshing glass of Mint Tea. The tea was a delicate blend of sweetness and minty freshness, the ideal palate cleanser after such rich flavors.
Finnieston Fez is a fantastic addition to Glasgow’s food scene. Whether you’re local or just visiting, it offers an authentic taste of Morocco that shouldn’t be missed. So, join me, Shereen Shafaatulla, as we celebrate these vibrant flavors and enjoy this cultural experience in the West End.
